In the nest of the greater quetzal worm. It was quite heavily locked magically speaking as several had tried some lesser knocks and other stuff on it. Ummmm I think I will try picking the locks on the bin with an occultum lead spike. The occultum lead should mess with the magic bindings, I am Demi god dexterous, and can use tremorsense to hopefully feel when the tumblers go.

First gonna clean up my stuff lying about. Just unceremoniously throw it where I usually store it.

I will carefully tele-lift the bloodied robe from the luggage, keeping it far away from all of us.
I'm staying in the corridor above the hatch and if if looks like Blerble will be hit by any magical countermeasures, I will try to lift him out of the room.

What a potent lockpicking combination! Bolts of magic arc from the locks and die in the lead-occultum. By tapping on the metal you can see somewhat clearly the insides of the padlocks, and your sense of touch is even more precise than that.
As you toss your belongings around haphazardly, you feel a faint sense of... not displeasure exactly, but polite focus.
Jax: The bundle of robes rises out of the chest. It makes your brain itch a little just holding it. You can feel the rumble in the distance stop briefly, and then get a lot louder, a potent thunder that makes the metal walls ring like a bell. Blerble is making steady progress on the locks, but whatever is approaching is moving fast and hard. What do you do?

I throw the robes in the direction of the incoming rumble, just to be far away from them, then take out my potion of ? ? ?. I spill it in a wide circle around all of us who remained in the corridor, reasoning that it's supposedly magical, everyone knows that circles protect you, so a circle of mysterious magical liquid should help against a mysterious incoming threat.
Then I ready a javelin.
"It would perhaps be wise to make it quick down there, worm friend."

Jax: As you throw the robes, a few things fall out of them - a snapped wand, a silvery locket with black inlay, and a bright red feather. Where did you get potion ??? from again?
Blerble: The padlocks creak and groan and pop off one by one. Then Terrance pipes up, "Master, we've got to go, right now". You figure out why as well, as you feel the sensation of magical observation trickle over your skin. You've been spotted by something!
Jax, peering down the end of the hallway, your torchlight glimmers off something as the rumble gets louder. Then you realise what it is you've seen: a rainbow reflective sheen at the tip of a wave of fluid pouring down the hallway towards you, an inexorable tide of the same liquid in the lake glooping faster than a man can run.
What do you all do?

Do the hatches open from the inside?
I’m gonna have Terrance start tossing the loot we found in phykalla’s trunk with legs.
“Do you think the bin of phykalla’s would float?”

I've bought the potion of ? ? ? from One Hit Wonders.
I take out my ice orb and wait until the tide is within range, then try to freeze it and block off the corridor with a wall of ice. If that doesn't work, I'll join Blerble.

Blerbles: The hatch probably be tricky to open or close from inside, since it doesn't have the same handles as the outside. The bin looks incredibly heavy.
Jax: As your pour out the grey fluid on the floor, it starts to crystallise and form weird sharp edges. The tide is moving fast enough that by the time the ice orb is in range, you won't have much opportunity to try anything else.

I don’t think we really can try anything else. Unless Terrance or telekinesis can open the hatch with us inside it I think it is ice orb or death.

I will assist with ice orb and if it doesn’t work I am diving in the hatch and closing it with me/us inside

I likewise will dive in the hatch as it closes, dragging in the goblins as I do so.

It is very cramped in the small space, especially with the goblins... unique aroma. Elbows jut into backs, bags and feet are stepped on, all in all it's rather uncomfortable.
Up above, Jax sees the hatch swing shut with all of his allies inside. In front of him swirls something between a wave and a tide. The ice orb blasts away, freezing the water, but considering how much iridescent goop is mixed in with it, it basically forms an oily slush mixture that rolls over, a little slower, but not by much. The flow will not be stopped. To your south is the exit into the lake area. If you sprint, you might make it before the "water" catches up with you.
What do you do?

I do just that. I sprint.

Oh I would keep the hatch open for him to join us, if anything to see where he goes. We can close it as the goop approaches. In the dark I will use tremorsense to get back to picking the locks.

Blerble: Terrance grabs your shoulder. "No, really, we need to get out of here!" as your tremorsense turns on again, over the roar of the approaching water, you can feel something moving underneath your feet, like it's coiling up to strike...
Jax: Your telekinesis does something you've never felt before, it activates on it's own and you feel a strange sensation. Perhaps this is the telekinetic equivalent of... smell? Or perhaps touch? Whatever the case, you get a strong "Miscellaneous" sensation coming from the floor beneath where Blerble is standing. Do you want to sprint for the exit (DEX check), or jump down before the hatch closes?

I hop on the bin and have Terrance ready the telthidian lance while I keep picking locks. I do not think I can outrun a tidal wave.

"Something's coming from below!" I call out to Blerble, Hurricane and Henry.
Then I sprint:

Blerble: It's not particularly a wave, just a mix of oil, water and ice that is coming down the tube at a fair clip.
Jax: Whether you've got allies right behind you or not, you book it down the hallway. The fluid is lapping at your ankles, but you're arms are pumping and your feet pound the metal floor. Are you going to slow down at all near the end of the hallway before the cliff? If you do, you might get caught by the wave and swept off anyway, but otherwise you'll run straight off the edge into the lake.

By previous experience, did the muck look swimmable? As in I wouldn't get stuck, quicksand style?
If so, I will keep running and jump off the cliff, diving into the lake feet first.

I believed this to be a much more dangerous tidal wave of sludge but will stick with my actions.

Jax: You leap off the cliff with the sludge rolling over it after you. You hit the "water" below like it's jelly, bouncing a little and sliding into the muck. You immediately gain five inventory slots of oily goop, and everything you are carrying is soaked through immediately. Is there anything on your person that would suffer from immersion in this stuff? Apart from that, you're fine... for now.
Blerble: ((So long as you're sure! Mismatched expectations happens a lot more in pbp, and I would prefer you make the choices you would've have made had you known what is definitely going on))

I start swimming towards the shore.
My scroll of darkness might suffer? Also I'm pretty sure I'm encumbered now. How does that work when swimming?
Did anything happen when the tidal wave crashed into the crystals grown via the potion of ? ? ?

Just to clarify, the wave has rolled over the little room and berble is in there with me?

Jax: ((Don't worry, I haven't forgotten about the potion)). The scroll would definitely be soaked through. You're slow and sluggish as you pull your arms through the oily muck. It's hard going, and the stench is getting embedded in your nostrils, but you're heading towards the shore... or rather, where you think the shore is. You can't see your hand in front of your face, even if you weren't busy trying to stay afloat.
Something brushes your foot.

Back in the corridor.
The hatch slams shut, and the sound of the oily wave washing over makes the whole container reverberate like a struck gong. With two goblins, a warrior and a worm along with the metal container and legged luggage, it is getting rather cramped.
It's at this point that the floor starts shifting and sliding. A large mouth, glowing with red heat, opens up in the floor, teeth made out of the metal of the floor itself. A faint sulphurous stench rises out of it. Three eyes blink into existence around the mouth as well, glowing with the same dull radiance.
"GNIGRUP. DETCETED SELPMAS REPORPMI." it gargles.
What do you do?
