Is the machine a new opening on the ceiling? Do they seem to be fixing it/going inside/waiting for something to come out of it?

It's not a new one, there were several down the line that looked a bit worse for wear. They seem to be investigating and fixing it right now.

I will show myself. I want to see their reaction, if there is any.

I'll step out with Jax, swords not drawn but my hands on them just in case.

The robots turn to look at you as you enter, then go back to working on the roof machine.

They gave you more attention when it was the blocky robot working while the smaller spider ones were standing guard. Now that the spider-bots are busily buzzing away at the machine on the roof, less attention. But not no attention.

I will advance towards them.
"Greetings! Are you friends or foes? Are you trapped here are we are, or are you the ones trapping us?"

I'll lean over and whisper "I doubt they will answer truthfully! But we shall see"
If they lunge at us, I'll try to take a blow for Jax.

One of the spider-bots turns to face you. It beeps once, flashes a few lights at you, then goes back to what it was doing.
The blocky robot, not capable of climbing up and helping, turns to face you as you approach and keeps an... eye on you? If it has eyes, that is.

"What are you doing here? What is the purpose of these machines? Of your robot?" I will keep walking until I can touch the robot, or peek inside of it.
"Can you understand me?"

I will join in the approach, keeping the vibes real casual.
"Please do feel free to talk to us, if you are prisoner same as us, we only wish to collaborate."

As you get closer and closer the blocky robot seems more and more agitated, it starts blipping faster, and a little light on it turns red. The three spider-bots stop what they are doing and array themselves before you, claws poised. It doesn't look like they are about to jump on you, but you aren't coming up on them unawares.

Isn't there a machine on the conveyor belt that regularly pounds things flat? Or is that something we triggered by fiddling with the levers?

I will look to Jax and whisper "Are we going in with shining steel now? They don't seem very talkative."

There are a wide variety of machines along the length of this structure. They are currently all perched on the one that is the most damaged-looking, it appears to have been partially repaired with some kind of animal claw?
Correct, the levers seem to activate the machines. None of them are currently active, and the conveyor belt isn't going either.

Can I remember which lever turned on the crusher without fiddling again?

I will look to Jax and whisper "Are we going in with shining steel now? They don't seem very talkative." "True. Yes, you are right."
I will take out my spirit urn, watching the spider-bots for any sudden movements.
"Last chance to prove yourself a being, rather than a monster."
If there's no or hostile reaction, I will lob the spirit urn at them.

Henry: ((I've just rechecked my notes. The closest thing to a crusher is a big jaw/claw that snaps together with a loud bang. Is that what you were thinking of? It's off to north side down at the end of the hallway, not directly on the conveyer belt))
It is the one that probably left most of an impression. It's lever number three, which is also all the way at the far east end of the hallway.
Jax: The spider-bots certainly react the the urn coming out, but no more than to any of your other movements. You can hear the faint whirring of lenses as they focus on the urn, then back on your face. The foremost spider-bot tilts it's "head" at you, and makes a few more beeping and clicking noises.
I'll let you decide whether what type of reaction that is.

Yeah, I don't know. I'm throwing the urn at them.

The urn soars through the air, landing with a crash of cracking crockery on the stone floor. A cloud of dust rises out of it, before coalescing into the silent spectre of a orcish warrior! The warrior grabs one of the spider-bots, and dashes it on the hard shell of the block-bot. There's a crunch of shattering metal, and all the lights on the three remaining robots glow bright read. The dinging and blipping stops, and they turn to face the three of you...
What do you do? Roll damage as you like, but be aware that you may expose yourself to greater risk from the two spider-bots (still up on the machine) and the block-bot (down on the floor)

I want to chug the potion of iron flesh and assuming that it turns me tough and not just into a statue, I want to go charging in, steel from sword glinting. Specifically I want to hack at the legs of the big bot - I think it is still mobile? If it is already unmobile, I want to try to hop up on top of it and slash the little bots. I'm sure you'll need a roll: Gc9VbmhJ1d201d20

((oh yeah, its been awhile since I've attacked!))
I do not think I got what the damage dice was on my swords, if you could tell me that I can roll it. Or why dont you roll it since itll be faster

Jax: Your javelin catches the spider-bot mid leap! It impales the creature in the side, sending it crashing to the ground. The spider-bot quickly jumps upright again, but staggers around, a bit unbalanced by the weight of the javelin.
Hurricane: You swig the potion, feeling your lips and neck turn to unyielding iron, spreading through your whole body. Your eyelids go clink whenever you blink. It's a little unnerving, and you feel a bit slow and sluggish, and between that and the potion you can only make one sword attack this round.
((Your swords do d6 damage each. If you attack the same enemy with both weapons, you only deal the higher damage-value))
Stomping forwards, you thwack the big robot directly in the side where the treads are. This robot is much slower, and has rotating tracks rather than legs.
OKog8zL71d6
THWACK. Several of the metal slats are cracked, and the bot swerves a little as it rolls towards you! Even so, it's still a bit closer to you than before. A hatch opens in the side of it, and out pops a thin black nozzle with a glimmer of flame at the end... what do you do?
The last spider-bot leaps onto you as well. It's claws scrabble at your flesh, but apart from a few buffs and scratches, it achieves nothing. Instead, it starts clambering up your body towards your head and face! 1d6

I wish to grab the spider bot and position it between me and the glimmer of flame. I want to use my resilience that the bot might not have to turn it into slag! I'll yell out best I can "Immobilize the big one! Don't blow it to smithereens so we can study it!" I'm going to assume controlling the spider bot will be an ability check:

I will charge at the large robot with my hammer in one hand and an iron spike in the other. My aim is to drive a spike through its treads and pin it to the floor below.

Not sure if I should add my STR (+1) or DEX (+3) to that?

Hurricane: In order to try and grab the spider-bot you have to drop both of your swords and clutch at it, but it darts nimbly between your slowed iron hands. You do keep it away from your face however.
Henry: A nice idea, but no luck. The large robot spins round as you approach, turning the flaming nozzle on you instead of Hurricane! Gas flares out over you for d6 damage:
MTkbY_Bi1d6
You're only lightly singed, but sparks are still smouldering in your clothes. Better put those out quickly...
The large robot has opened another hatch, and a large sawblade pops out, and starts to spin faster and faster.
Jax: What are you doing? The spider bot you hit with the javelin is still staggering about, but looks to be getting its balance.1d6

I will try if I cannot lift the spider-bot into the air.
((BTW, how many of the spider-bots are there?))
