I’m going back out with blerble to search for the gem construct. Starting west I will take the minecart up to floor +1 which is the floor it is wandering then I think I will head south and start walking through the rooms I know past the spiralizing lichen, west to the magical bubble barrier Encounter check: [ 2Ww092Ur1d6] You're quickly and safely there. Are you just planning on wandering around and rolling random encounters until you see it, or something else? 1d6

Yeah planned on just wandering the known area of the floor that I was told it is on, check up on stuff and keep going til I find it.

Fair enough, you're reasonable in control on this floor, so I'll say that you roll an encounter check. Where do you want the encounter to take place?

As you head up the corridor towards where the magical barriers are, you can hear the muffled sound of huffing, puffing, grunting and straining. "HA-HURGGGGhH! HURGHHHHHHH... Haaa. Grrrr. Stupid. Stupud stupid STUPID GRRARGHHHH."
You can see an incredibly muscular ogre on the other side of the magical barrier, straining valiantly against the thin membrane, which stretches and wobbles and slides away from their vicious tackles. Ogres usually eat as much as they want, and have muscles underneath. But this ogre clearly has been hungry for a while, and is absolutely shredded.
What do you do?

If they seem fine with me helping them I will pierce the membrane with an occultum lead spike, if that doesn’t work I can use cantankerous knock. The secret of magic is knowing when to use it and more importantly when not to use it.

The ogre presses itself up against the membrane, staring at you and drooling a bit. "Grarghh..." it says, licking it's lips a bit. My, those are sharp teeth.

Hmmmm seems to be semi feral. Oh well no good deed. I will step back a ways so I have a head start for running and cast cantankerous knock. “Lest time pass and this ogre grow harrier Make post haste and open this barrier.”

With the magic words of Knock, the rhyme, and your lead-occultum implement, the barrier starts to slip and slide away, moving away to the edges of the wall. The ogre wriggles through, and steps into your hallway. It looks at you, curiosity fighting with appetite. "Hu-hungry." it grumbles. What do you do?

“Follow me.” I will lead them to the last of the lichen and blood turnips. (Should be just east of here) The person this was planted for is no longer here I believe. I will encourage the ogre to pick and eat their fill.

I imagine they will eat them all. Such is the way with a giant.

"Vegetable?" says the ogre, an expression of disgust on their face. Hunger wins out, and they pull up fistfuls of the red-purple tubers, cramming them down. "Who'r you?" they mumble around a mouthful? They seem a lot calmer and less driven to eat you already.

"...Gnrf." says the ogre. You can't tell if that was a name, a shrug, or just a noise made while eating.

I will give it a bit and respect it’s time then eventually “Ah well I must be off, I seek the wandering crystal.”

"Gnrf." says the ogre again, looking at you somewhat, mostly concentrated on eating. It seems - well, how do you feel about it?
And which way are you going to go?

It seems cute. Back to the barriers then south past the throne

Are you just going to keep wandering until the next random encounter again?

Yeah why not, idk if it would lure it or not but I have some gems from the beholder I could maybe clink them together a little or something

I'd say so! I'll roll the encounter twice, and pick the more gem-like one. I'll say your down half a torch as well just from all the wandering back and forth.

((If you can think of a better way to do "hunting for the thing on the random encounter list" let me know))
Both of those are already have known locations, so:

From the far end of the passageway, you detect a subtle but off-putting whiff. You can't quite place it, which is odd for a worm, given that you are covered tip to tail with odour-sensing skin. Where are you, and what do you do?1d23·1d23·1d23·1d23

In the hallway by all of the small rooms (with the anemone and such) hmmmm I don’t think a crystal would have an odor

No it wouldn't. From the far end of the long hallway (towards the maze), you can see swirls and wisps of strange fog or mist. What do you do?

Yeah I don’t like that. I am heading to the throne room. See if this thing passes me by and if not I can go down the secret passage.

It's slow, dragging tendrils along the walls and flowing into open doors. Will you wait for it to come to you, or go down the secret tunnel?
((Depending on how we want the timelines to be, you might even pop out right next to the other group))

I will just go down the secret tunnel. Yeah I can meet the other group at the flame wall.

[Other group taking a little while longer than expected. You get there first.]
Down the stairs you slip and slide, Lil Red following after, gathering up vaguely nutritious dust and cobwebs. Round and round and round, until you pop out the secret door. Down to the flame wall, what next?

This area has changed quite a bit since I first explored it with phykalla. What do I see what is around?

The staircase leads down to a secret panel in the side of the hallway. To the left (north) is the Life/Death room, to the right (south) you can hear the crackle of flickering flames.
