Shakily, slowly I stand up and draw an unsteady breath. I stare at my hands. They feel like they are being twisted off of my arms. Are they being twisted off of my arms?
I grab all the pain and conflicting emotions flickering through my head and squash them, squeeze them tighter and tighter until they burn like fire inside of my head, until they are like a supernova on the last second before its explosion, right there behind my eyes. Then, without turning around, I use it all as a fuel to push at the throne behind me.

They aren’t exactly being twisted off. The healing crystal has stopped working on them, and they are breaking again as the magic leaks away.
Behind you, you feel the stone of the throne ripple like a rock dropped into a pond. You feel the weight of the crown lessen slightly, and you can stand up now.

"I'm okay," I say to Henry and Hurricane. "...I think. I will just need the healing potion from One-Shot Wonders."
I want to see how's my telekinetic dexterity, though. I will try floating one of my empty bottles and scooping up some of the neon-brown gunk into it.
((Do you, garmr or frankiestein, have a destination in mind, or shall we just wander around a bit and then maybe go back to CB0?))

The empty bottle floats over to the gunk, shatters into dust, melts into a puddle on the floor, and releases a cloud of indescribably foul smoke.

"Well, I don't know if that was me or the gunk, but I'm not touching that to find out."
I will go back to the mirror room.
"You Majesty, you have been trying to pry this off and take it down? Do you think we should try that again? Maybe I could be of assistance?"

I would greatly like to figure out this mirror. Additionally I would like to see if those little geometric forms have intelligence, they may need freedom.
"Well I certainly hope that is all you need! You somehow look worse then me" chuckles to self "Do you feel?... Stronger? More capable?"
....
To the mirror! "Can you hold it in place with telekensis? I will free it with a sword and crowbar" if he is able to hold it aloft, I wish to separate it from the wall using the sword, with a swift and decisive slice. I believe it is high up? If so I will ask Herald and Wizard to help hold me aloft (which I expect to go poorly but I like the mental of this portly knight getting a lift from two goblins).

You're pretty sure it wasn't you are the gunk - it was the crown. Latent destructive power courses down your spine, tingling where your feet touch the ground, your mind swirls with locust plagues and bloodsoaked-thunderstorms. All in all, it feels pretty awful, making you tetchy and uncomfortable. You feel pent-up and twisted inside, like a spring in a clock with the hands stuck fast.
The crown is a weapon, and it desires to be used.

"I mostly feel the pain in my wrists," I chuckle.
...
"Hm, I wouldn't want to shatter the mirror by accident. Let me try something first."
I will take the crown off my head and only then will I try to keep the mirror steady (without stepping underneath it).

How exactly are you going to do that with non-functioning hands? Your fingers do nothing but tingle painfully when you try to move them.

I will help lift the crown off Jaxudyzad's head if necessary. Us royalty have to take care of each other!
I would like to try prying off the mirror to use as a weapon. Do we have some kind of cloth to cover it so we don't accidentally entrap ourselves?
The other goal I have is to scribe spells onto my hands. That will require a trip to the wall of fire. It's a long-ish journey but not dangerous as far as I know.

The crown is off, twitching in Henry's hands. It feels like holding a sleeping, incredibly poisonous snake.
Prying off the mirror without breaking it will require quite a lot of tools and time. It's not going anywhere, maybe you should come back to it?

"Well, you have your crown, if this is indeed so troublesome best we come back. I am more than willing to accompany you to the wall of fire Henry, let me first see if these geometric creatures might need freedom."
I'll go over to the wooden blocks and start disturbing as many as I can "Wizard, what do you make of these creatures?" and I'll attempt to divine some hierarchy amongst them as I awaken them.

Wizzard looks down at the creatures, and shrugs. He takes one, licks it experimentally, crunches on it a tiny bit, and drops it again. "Just a thing."
The wooden creatures scuttle up and away, unfurling like beetles and rummaging around. A few of them bat at your hands, but once they see you pick up a few that are being stuck under the pile and set them down elsewhere, they stop. No hierarchy of any sort, they're just... things.

Hmm, do we have a sack between us? I don't have one in my inventory. We could take some of these along as automatons for testing things if we do. Otherwise I am satisfied in this space. Otherwise I'll accompany the king in the quest for spells or something jax has planned.

I don't think anyone of us has a sack, unfortunately. They probably won't stay in our pockets if we just grab a few, Spwack? Can we first make a short stop in CB0 to collect a potion to heal my wrists from One Hit Wonders? And then to the wall of fire, if Henry will lead the way. Anyway, we should go south to the mirror room, thensouth again to the hungry vines. I will put on the crown again, alleviating the pain with the healing amulet, and try to burn a clear path through the plants.

I like the idea of using the skitterers to test for traps. Can I fit one inside the hollow mechanical sphere I'm carrying? (Which I found in the conveyor belt room.)

You can cram several of them in your pockets if you'd like, shall we say, about five?
What are you going to call them?

Wood-jigs is what I shall refer them as "Henry, please do lead the way!" I am making a point to not use the kingly title, just as a note (not being trying to be a jackass, he just doesn't respect royalty these days)

Once we get past these vines, let's head back to Cell Block Zero.

The wood-jigs scuttle around a bit, but honestly seem pretty content to poke their heads (?) out of your pockets and look about as you travel.
The crown going back on your head feels awful, but at least you've got the healing ruby cushioning the blow a bit. Your gaze cuts through the vines and flowers and roots like a hot knife through putrefying butter. Bulbs pop and splurt black ichor, stalks are sliced and sizzle in the ground, and you feel... better. Not good, not with the incredibly, awful pressure of the crown bearing down on you, but somehow... better.
One encounter check on the way back: DKd3y|8J1d6
Oh my! 1d23
You head back along the path you took, all the way to the rattling lift. Over the sound of clattering metal, you hear something strange - muffled droning and mumbling, coming from up the shaft. What do you do?1d6·1d23

"Your Majesty, if we don't want to confront whatever makes these gods-awful sounds, we could try going north through the hexagonal chamber with the damaged machine. The roots of Seymour should be found that way, and we can climb them up to the swamp of the depressed frogs."

"Let us investigate a little further before we retreat. Who knows if this may be a friend rather than a foe?"
I will set down my torch, go to the shaft, and peer up to see if any light is visible. Does the droning sound like a mechanical noise or a droning voice?

"Henry makes a good point, we should try to usher out of this place all that we can."

It's a droning voice, rendered nearly unintelligible by the echoes bouncing off the rock. It sounds almost like - a sermon? A sermon by a drunk priest in a cave? Weird.

I'd like to pull on my time in knighthood to recall theological teachings. Does this ring any bells? Are they worshiping HE BELOW?

It's hard to tell with the echoes, but you can't really make any sense of what you can hear. It doesn't match any sermon you've ever heard, it just sounds like one. Imagine a sonorous and slightly nasal preacher reading a cookery book.

If no one stops me, I'm gonna go brashly forward towards the noise, toeing Herald and Wizard. Sword drawn with torch in the other "Do you have lessons to teach voice in the dark?" I'll get as close as I can
