You plummet out of the vines of Saint Seymour, catching one of the ragged figures in the head with your knee. He collapses to the ground, and you end up sprawled on top, pummelling wildly away. The other two are startled, but round on you quickly, hissing and clicking. Daggers are drawn, one of stone, and one of bone. You reckon you could finish this one off with a few more well-placed smashes, but you'll be wide open when the other two close in. What do you want to do?

Bogg is going to try and sweep the leg of at least one other creature. I'm guessing this requires a DEX roll, so preemptively:

((Good assumption. This is going to be a weird fight since you don't have a weapon, but we can figure it out.))
You've got your forearm over the windpipe of the one underneath you, and you strike out wildly with your leg. That one isn't knocked over, but has to leap backwards to avoid a kick to the knee. The other one comes in, slashing wildly with a chipped obsidian knife! uzTEL3Lb1d61d6

I try to pick up the creature on the floor and swing it at its companions.

As you drag up the creature, it takes in a deep breath, lets out a hissing wail, and lunges towards you! It's neck is impossibly bendy, stretching towards the arm you've got pinning it down.

Ouch! It bites down, and it'll bite you again if you don't let go and back off.1d6

I punch it once in the face, trying to stun it.

And then promptly run back to the tree roots, trying to climb back up to safety. 1d20+1

You thwack it in the face and it pulls away snarling, letting you hop up and leg it for the tree roots. You start climbing, but they are in hot pursuit. Make a DEX check to see if you can get away from them.

((As opposed to, Run, Forrest, Run?))
You kick away at scrabbling hands, and clamber up the roots of Saint Seymour. You can hear them, snapping and snarling as they follow up behind you. You know the way better tham them, but it's not like there's an alternate path you could take. Where are you going to go when you reach the top?

I'm going to summon a few swarms of bugs to annoy and harass them so that they fall off the roots.

There's not really much in the way of "falling" in the root system of Saint Seymour, you're scrambling through cramped gaps in between the woody stems. If you want to get a lot of bugs in their face, lets see a CHA roll. Otherwise they aren't likely to jump to attention immediately, if that makes sense.
You can keep crawling upwards at the same time either way, do you think you can take them in a fight if you're somewhere else?

You know what lives in the roots of a massive tree?
Beetles
A tremendous swarm of them boil out, eager to follow your commands. The creature following you cries out in shock. An unwise choice, their mouth is filled with a flurry of carapaces. They stop climbing, flailing and choking, and blocking the route to you for a while. You can escape right now if you want! Which way do you go?

To Cell Block 0 if I'm on level 0. If I'm for some reason I'm not on level 0, then I'll keep climbing to level +1.

You scurry back up out of the root system, head north pass the croaking frogs ("woe") and make it back to Cell Block Zero. Phew! What a day. You could keep climbing the trunk of Saint Seymour if you wished to get to +1, return to the Cell Block Zero thread, or overheard the discussion between Pops and a selection of kobolds in "Floor Five or Bust!"

You spend some time with the woeful frogs under the spreading boughs of Saint Seymour, collecting plenty of the midges and beetles. It's been a little while since you fled the creatures, you can't hear them at all.

Bogg climbs down, being careful to keep the bugs around him. He heads west into the rat room. Feeding them the bugs, Bogg asks if they know anything new about the floor, such as random encounters or wandering monsters.

The bugs swarm and shimmer, a pulsing mass that follows your every move. "Oh hey! Yer still alive. Mmmm nummy buggs!" The rats fall into the swarm, which twitch uncomfortably as their individual members are devoured in droves.
"Oh there's lots of others a bit like ya crawling around these parts. Up a bit higher, there's these big strong adventurers what have done a number of the monsters and such, some of 'em, it's hard to tell if theys monsters or people yeah? Bit like us. I wouldn't want to be around at suppertime when there's no meat I'll tell you what!"
"There's this big ogre right, got hisself some kinda magic axe I think, you should steer clear. And lotta dwarves and orcs moving around lately, looking for a safe place to setup camp, but they all down a bit further mostly. Around these parts is pretty quiet, cept for the spider-ghouls. Heard some of those hissing and clicking, came past this way a little while ago, heading back to theys nest I think."
