Hi there, I'm Spwack, your (hopefully) Merciful DM. I've been playing Dungeons and Dragons for many years now, and I've been designing OSR games for quite some time. You can find my current blog here, and I hope I'm pretty approachable, so drop me a line if you have any questions! My games have a pretty gonzo vibe, it's said that you should always try talking to a door, trap, treasure chest or bridge before you mess with it, because it'll probably talk back. Creativity and imagination are always rewarded over stinginess and rules-lawyering, and I am a big softy firm but fair in my rulings. Hope you have a great time here!

I'm Nick! I've been playing D&D for about 3-4 years. Mainly 5e until I discovered the OSR, of which I much prefer the playstyle. Only ran OSR games, never been a player in one, so I'm excited to see how it feels from the other side! Also, never played by post before, so interested to see if this is something I could do with my friends.

Hi, I'm Garmr. I've been playing D&D and other roleplaying games for about 10 years now (wow!). My favourite games include Knave, Fiasco and The Clay That Woke. I played briefly in a previous iteration of this dungeon on Discord, so I'm excited to explore it some more.

I'm red_kangaroo, hi!
I've been interested in RPGs for quite a few years (not just D&D, for example Exalted is my favourite as far as world-building goes, even if the mechanics are way too crunchy for me ), but it wasn't until I found out about OSR that inspired me to start a blog, here. I'm also one of the devs of a roguelike called IVAN.
I have also never played by post, so let's see where that goes.

Hi, I'm Nico. I'm relatively new to RPGS, but I've mostly been involved with OSR games, and I'm almost always the DM. I've run a play-by-post game on the Discord before, so let's see how it goes! You can find my current blog here.

Oddrick here. Been just redirected from the Die Trying Discord and happy to find out Spwack's megadungeon still lives. Young me played mostly AD&D 2E in the 90s (and WoD, but that's a different story); older me found 3E too clunky to be bothered to give it a try. Even older me is into quirky OSRs and pretty much anything with four or less stats and usage dice in it.

Hi all, I'm Marcia/chiquitafajita! I've been playing rpgs for a couple years, and I got into the OSR scene maybe a year and a half ago. I'm really excited for this game! My character Elizabeth can cry oil and has a prehensile tongue.

Good to have you with us chiquitafajita , do you want to start in Cell Block Zero, or join an existing delve?

Hey. *leans closer to the mic* I heard you need extra players. Been a while. Any particular delves I should join going atm or should I just hop in CB0?

Hello! I'm Phin, always been a fan of Finders Keepers and thought I'd hop in! Any group/delve I should hop on specially?

I hopped into the Raid on the Beholder's Lair since they supposedly just came back to CB0. We'll see how that works out. Alternatively we can create our own delve topic if we decide to go out on our own.

I'm Anthony/Jojiro, here to jump into a delve as soon as I can figure out character creation. I've been jumping between 13th Age, D&D 5e, and OSR for ages, but have yet to experience a PbP game! My wrists are bad and I've always sort of avoided PbP since so much of my real life work and socializing is already through a keyboard.
Excited to see how this works out, as something more "paced out"!

I'm putting together some Questions, Frequently Asked. Are there any I've missed? "Ahh! I'm dying!" No, you're not. When you hit 0 HP, your next hit might be your last. If you roll over the damage you next take on a d20, you survive.
"What do I roll to hit?" You don't, you just deal damage (so long as it's possible to hit)
"What do I roll to dodge?" If you want to spend your whole turn running away, roll +DEX. Otherwise, you just get hit.
"What do I roll to...?" You probably don't roll anything, say what you are doing and just do it.
"Can I roll insight to...?" No. Ask me a question. Say what and where you are looking, ask for more detail, I'll probably give it to you.

Howdy! Long time GM here, mostly in later editions in D&D. In the last 9 months or so I've really exploded in trying out new system and fell in love with OSR style stuff! I have ran a short lived play by post game in a cyberpunk setting - I am very excited to play in this one!

Hi everyone, my name is Reilly/Ra.jar and I'm keen to give PbP a go. I GM for my group of friends, we started with 5e and then as I got really into OSR I ran an open table Forbidden Lands game for a while with a larger group. Now I'm back to the original gang and we play Burning Wheel, a very narrative focused game. I'd love to get my OSR fix here with you all, hoping to start in CB0 and follow in the footsteps of the greats.

Great to have you with us Reilly! There’s a very small smatterings of narrative gameplay scattered throughout the dungeon, mostly when it comes to not-yet-generated areas and hireling NPCs, but it’s safe to say that this place is pretty strongly OSR where it counts

Hi I'm Papyrus1, I'm a punk kid from nowhereville nowherecountry. I like to play games where the treasure is grand, the death is imminent, and the shmucks are ordinary. I mostly play play-by-post and have died in over half the games I've been in. I'm just happy to be here in the great megadungeon of...uhh....the great megadungeon.

Welcome to the dungeon! It's nameless, but definitely endless. I'd recommend doing an introduction of what your character looks like in the Cell Block Zero thread, and then we can figure out where to send you next

Hello! I'm Fifth, I'm currently short on games where I get to be murdered messily and repeatably, so I figured I'd check this out. Nice to meet y'all. Unused to forums , at least I haven't used them actively for a good handful of years.

I'm starting with a violin that lets me turn invisible, so hopefully that will help. There's a lot in the starting room to read, anything I need to know before wandering off in a direction?

The first (0th) floor has been pretty substantially cleared of mobile / non-obvious threats, but still has a few here and there. Danger increases as you both ascend and descend. Post your character introduction in the Cell Block Zero thread and take a look at the mess of maps, we'll get you started in no time!

Hi,thanks. I've been into RPGs for a long time now but most of my experience has been with 5e. Heard about OSR a couple years ago but I haven't managed to make it into a game yet. The idea behind them is intriguing and I'd love to join endless dungeon. Do I just jump in with a post in CB0?

Finders Keepers is pretty easy to pick up, but it is brutal. Every attack hits, and once you are at 0 HP, any hit has a chance of instant death. A few general survival tips: Running away is always an option, there are always hints if you know where to look, ask for help, and the answer often isn't on your character sheet.
And yes, your character pops out of one of the magical cells in CB0, give them a description and we will figure out their next moves.

I'm a little concerned because I started without a weapon, but the character name was so epic I just had to roll with it.
